Dynamic Korea

I’d like to introduce dynamic Korea to all of you. There are many sides of Korea. It can be traditional, peaceful or graceful . But I’d like to show you some dynamic aspects of our country. 

First, I want to tell you about lively culture of night. I’ve been to America when I was third grade of elementary school. I expected to see the night of America and streets with fancy lights. But the lights of streets usually turn off at early evening in America. So the night was very clam and dark, which was different with Korea where I have lived. 

In contrast, people who live in Korea are accustomed to going out late at night and go around the streets under bright lights. That may tell foreigners that Korea is very dynamic. Indeed, many foreigners say that they are loving the night market like Dongdaemun Shopping Complex and the markets open for 24 hours. You can feel more dynamic in here than any other places because there are passion in these places. Many diligent sellers keep their stores from dawn. They look very energetic and passionate and they make our nights more dynamic. 

Second, there is another culture that shows our dynamic aspect well. It is “빨리빨리” culture, which means doing something quickly and never letting someone do slowly. People say when foreigners come to Korea, they learn “빨리빨리” just before they learn Hanguel. Like this, the culture has become one part of Koreans’ life. 

But in the old days, Koreans didn’t hasten. After the independence, the government made a goal to improve economy. From then, all of the people tried to do things more quickly. They didn’t accept doing things slowly and comfortably because they should earn as much money as possible. There wasn’t any calmness. After achieving the goal, this culture have remained, which made not only economic growth but also made our country more dynamic and passionate. Thanks to this culture, now Korea is the strong nation for the IT technology-like internet, cell phone, DMB. People couldn’t wait for the slow speed, so it made Korea the best of IT in all over the world. 

I think there are many people who don’t know Korea. I’d like to know the world that Korea is very dynamic and passionate. Also, Koreans are the most dynamic and diligent people in the world. So I would like to show the world how Koreans are diligent and dynamic and Koreans should tell this in many fields. Thank you.
